Swipe4Work got off to a flying start after launching the job app six months ago. The growth potential is undeniable. That is why NOM and G-Force Capital recently decided to invest in the emerging Groningen startup. The capital injection of €400,000 will enable Swipe4Work to accelerate its growth plans, improve the product and increase brand awareness.

Swipe4Work aims to make the job application process in a tight labor market more fun, faster and fairer. A mission that so far seems to be succeeding just fine. Since going live, for example, about 150 companies have already connected to the accessible job app, including Belsimpel, Klippa and Enshore, and the app has been downloaded by more than 10,000 (latent) job seekers. Until recently, the startup was mainly active in the northern Netherlands, but is currently scaling up to the Randstad. To then soon serve all of the Netherlands.

Unique matching algorithm

Swipe4Work helps job seekers find suitable jobs quickly and easily. By swiping, users of the app can discover their dream job in a highly efficient way. There is no need to prepare a resume and cover letter. The startup has developed a unique matching algorithm to match job seekers with job vacancies based on their skills, personality and interests. And so not just based on hard qualifications.

'For Generation Y and Z, resumes and traditional cover letters are out of date,' clarifies Mattheüs Nubé, co-founder of Swipe4Work. 'They want equal opportunities for everyone, regardless of gender, age, ethnic or cultural background. Swipe4Work promotes inclusion by allowing candidates to apply anonymously and easily until the match.'

Milestone

Starting in November, Swipe4Work is enriching the job application experience with a visual and personal touch, including by adding videos of companies to job postings. This, too, obviously fits the needs of today's generation. Moreover, it usually gives candidates a better understanding of the companies' core values and work atmosphere. The importance of the investment by NOM and G-Force Capital is evident, Mattheüs says. 'The investment is a milestone for Swipe4Work and enables us to improve our product, implement AI applications and boost brand awareness. Meanwhile, we will continue to listen unabated to feedback from employers and job seekers to make the job application process fairer, faster and more fun.

Boudewijn Hulst, Investment Manager NOM: 'As NOM we are committed to inclusion and equality, also in the labor market. Swipe4Work connects seamlessly to this, with a platform that connects employees and employers based on aspects that really matter. We are very enthusiastic about the Swipe4Work team. A great example of "practice what you preach!"

Niek Huizenga, Investment Manager G-Force: 'In these times of staff shortages, traditional job platforms are just not good enough. Young people look at their work, career and employer in a very different way. Swipe4Work responds to this very well and knows how to serve the target group perfectly. "And just as important, it is a very good team consisting of passionate and experienced HR professionals, marketers, financial specialists and IT people.
